In her first week at Hungry Minds, Sierra, a Kaya Collaborative fellow, visited the homes of several Hungry Minds Manila students to meet their families and to immerse herself in the community.

Her experience has given her an opportunity to understand and learn more about the children of Hungry Minds: “I am now beginning to see that these students and parents I meet through Hungry Minds have risen above the limitations of poverty, an accomplishment more distinguishable than any accomplishment I will achieve in my lifetime.”
