It was an exciting Wednesday for Hungry Minds as it welcomed its first group of volunteers to its Pasay school this year! Visa volunteers prepared a story-telling session to teach financial education to Hungry Minds Grade 5 students. Fun games and prizes made the kids very happy and excited to participate in the activity. A mother of 4 kids. A housewife. A sari-sari store owner. A full-time student. Her son, Glen, is one of the Hungry Minds Malolos High School scholars. Amidst the pandemic and challenges in online learning, Nanay (mother) decided to go back to school to pursue her dream of graduating in College. Glen and his siblings help their mother in her online class. Tatay (father) manages their sari-sari store so Nanay can attend her classes. Food for Hungry Minds goes through an intensive evaluation by the representatives of the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC).  Educators, selected partners and beneficiaries worked together to secure again the Seal of Good Housekeeping from PCNC.  We thank everyone in the Hungry Minds community for all their help and support. Many Hungry Minds scholars and their families struggled in dealing with the challenges of the pandemic and online learning.
