Food for Hungry Minds offers a continuing scholarship to qualified Hungry Minds elementary graduates for their High School and College education. Scholarship support includes tuition subsidies, monthly allowances, and other forms of assistance which are provided regularly by the Scholarship Coordinator. As part of their scholarship, Hungry Minds College Scholars contribute 12 service hours per semester giving back to the program that supports their education.

Hungry Minds elementary graduates are admitted to competitive private and public high schools in Manila and in Bulacan such as Manila Science High School (MaSci), Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School (Science High), Stella Maris Academy of Malolos (SMA) , Paco Citizen Academy (PCA), Paco Catholic School (PCS), Bulacan State University (BSU), Philippine Normal University Laboratory School and Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos (HSAM).

In collaboration with corporate and individual donors, Hungry Minds provides educational support to its college scholars enrolled in private and state universities and colleges. Many alumni further demonstrate academic excellence by earning external scholarships from institutions such as DOST, CHED, University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University–Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and the SM Foundation—underscoring the long-term impact of the Hungry Minds program.

Stats and Results

The Hungry Minds program opens doors for underprivileged children to transform their lives through education. For 20 years, it has empowered underprivileged children, helping them rise above poverty by addressing learning gaps and nurturing their potential. Many Hungry Minds learners begin the three-year, holistic program in Grade 4, often reading at a Grade 2 level and with little to no ability to understand English.

Learning has long been a challenge for many Hungry Minds children making the goal of entering a good high school seem difficult to achieve. However, these learners receive more than just academic instruction—they are given guidance, focused support, and the encouragement needed to thrive.

By Grade 6, these learners show remarkable progress: they speak English with confidence, develop strong academic abilities, and carry a renewed sense of hope. Hungry Minds scholars go on to succeed in high school, college, and beyond—contributing to their communities and inspiring others with their journeys.

The results speak for themselves—proof of the program’s lasting impact.

  • From 2009 to 2013, Hungry Minds' 6th-graders consistently topped the National Achievement Tests among private schools in Makati. In 2014, they ranked first in Pasay for the same exam and third in Malolos.
  • 96% of HM scholars finish high school with many competitive schools
  • 98% of HM graduates continue on to further education.
  • Currently, 68% of HM scholars graduate from College vs. the National Average of only 16%*.
  • More than 170 alumni have joined the workforce and are helping their families and communities.
