Hungry Minds believes that each and everyone in our community is valuable in the success of the organization. As part of our core values, we aim to promote “bayanihan” or community effort, not only to our students but to our entire community.

Malolos Parents came to Hungry Minds School-Malolos to help repaint the school

This is what our Malolos parents did when they came together to pool efforts into repainting all the rooms of the Hungry Minds Malolos school building. Even a month before the actual work at the end of October, Social Workers organized parents who responded to the challenge of wanting a brighter environment for their children.

After learning that Hungry Minds needed volunteers to repaint the school,  Tatay Adriano went directly to Hungry Minds School after working in a night shift. According to Tatay Adriano, he is very grateful to Hungry Minds and this is his way of showing his gratitude.

“Napakalaki po ng utang na loob namin  sa paaralan, sa ganitong paraan man lang po eh maipakita namin  ang suporta at pasasalamat sa Hungry Minds. Napaka palad po namin at napabilang ang anak ko sa mga iskolar ng Hungry Minds,basta po may kailangan kayu  at kakayanin tutulong po ako sa ganung paraan man lang po ay maibalik ko ang tulong na binibigay ng paaralan sa anak ko at sa pamilya namin.”

(“This is the least that we can do to show our support and gratitude to Hungry Minds School. We are extremely grateful to this school.  We are fortunate that our child is one the scholars of Hungry Minds. If, in the future, Hungry Minds will need help again, I will try my best to help them. It is only through our own little ways that I will be able to return all the support they are giving to my child and to my family.” )

They say no one is too rich not to need anything, and no one is too poor not to be able to give anything. Indeed, each Hungry Minds child has a reason to be proud of his/her parents’ contribution to this effort. This is truly bayanihan in action!
